Another day, another Treme-related piece of news. Actor Wendell Pierce has been active in the rebuilding of Pontchartrain Park, where he grew up and his family lives. On Saturday night at 6 p.m., he’ll be the special guest when the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra plays a free concert at Press Drive and Prentiss Avenue.
LPO Resident Conductor Rebecca Miller will lead a performance that will include well-known works ranging from Gershwin’s Girl Crazy Overture to “America the Beautiful,” introduced by Pierce and other community leaders.
In Sunday’s next episode of Treme, we’ve been told to keep our eyes and ears open for Tony Green, Joe Krown and Galactic. Consider yourself tipped.
