From today’s Times-Picayune:
“It signals to people they can do anything they want in the French Quarter. They can come in and spray paint all over a building; they can lay across the sidewalk; they can beg for money; they can hit someone over the head and steal money; or bring guns into the French Quarter and shoot people,” Cavett said. (“Cavett” is Gail Cavett, a French Quarter property owner, and the “it” in that quote is graffiti.)
You know what says more clearly that you can bring guns to the Quarter and shoot people? Bringing a gun to the French Quarter on Halloween and shooting someone on Bourbon Street with a cop on every block.
