May 3, 2009, New York, NY: The Preservation Hall Jazz Band of New Orleans is proud to announce their participation in a very special performance at NYC’s Madison Square Garden celebrating the 90th birthday of American musical legend Pete Seeger. Featuring performances and tributes from a host of Seeger’s contemporaries (Arlo Guthrie, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Kris Kristofferson), as well as some of the biggest names in contemporary American music (Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Ani DiFranco, Dave Matthews), all proceeds from this historic performance will benefit Seeger’s environmental action and awareness group, The Clearwater Foundation.
