Inspired by its music, Winther relocated to the city to study jazz at the University of New Orleans in 1997. Since, the saxophone and clarinet man has found himself in high demand both in the contemporary and traditional veins as well as in the studio and on the stage.

Tune into this episode of OffBeat’s Look-Ka Py Py Podcast to hear Winther tell his jazz story, his perspective on Billy Strayhorn’s music and what he thinks keeps the New Orleans music scene spinning round and around…
