APRIL 13, 2022 | This week’s Beat Café features vocalist Britney Chauntae and Carol “Kit” Harris of the N’Awlins D’Awlins Baby Dolls. In the first half hour of this podcast, Chauntae discusses her music career. Chauntae—a native of Dallas, Texas—moved to New Orleans following time spent in Australia. She also auditioned for American Idol.

Carol “Kit” Harris keeps the Black Carnival tradition of masking Baby Doll alive as a founding member of the N’Awlins D’Awlins Baby Dolls. She appeared at the 2022 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and is a regular anywhere the Baby Dolls perform in New Orleans. Both Chauntae and Harris were interviewed by David Johnson, digital media editor of OffBeat.
