Tonight, performers from the cast of Disney’s The Lion King will be part of “City of Hope: Nola Cares” at the Joy Theater. The night will combine music, dance and spoken word; it will be hosted by Spud McConnell and feature live music by Theresa Andersson and performances by the Mudhoney Dance Collective. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and benefits the United Way. Tickets are on sale now.
During Mardi Gras this year, Andersson made an unexpected appearance in the Muses parade atop a puppet goose with a band and dancers below her. That footage has been edited into the video for “Hold On to Me,” the first from her upcoming album, Street Parade, which is due out April 24.
