He was a fan and at his urging, Sub Pop Records released The Way of the Vaselines: A Complete History in 1992. Nirvana covered their song, “Jesus Doesn’t Want Me for a Sunbeam,” on MTV Unplugged in New York. The band is together again and plays tonight at One Eyed Jacks with Jeffery Lewis opening.
