In 2009, Seattle indie pop rockers The Pharmacy came to New Orleans to work on their album Weekend for Park the Van Records. They played many shows, and spent the summer that year recording the raw album in the Mid-City house where they stayed.

This weekend the band is back in town, opening Japanther’s Foburg Festival show at the Hi-Ho Lounge along with Jean-Eric. The Pharmacy released a new EP, Dig Your Grave, at the beginning of February. The last of the four songs is one of the recordings from their house in New Orleans. This video, released yesterday, is for another track on the EP, “Pines”. An interesting bit of trivia—the guitar solo in the middle of the song was recorded with the same guitar amp used during the recording of Nirvana’s Bleach.
