Keeping track of the lineup changes in any band with a history can be difficult enough, but determining who is and isn’t an original member of L.A. Guns is a pretty good challenge. Even before the Hollywood metal band recorded its debut album in 1988, it had swapped members around other Hollywood bands including Faster Pussycat, and had members leave to form Guns ‘N Roses. There are so many ex-members that there are two versions of L.A. Guns on the road – one fronted by long-time vocalist Phil Lewis, and one led by the guitarist who started the band and gave it its name, Tracii Guns.
It’s the Guns-led incarnation that plays One Eyed Jacks tonight fronted by singer Dilana Robichaux, who was introduced to the world on the rock ‘n’ roll reality show, Rock Star: Supernova. Here’s the video for L.A. Guns’ classic “Rip and Tear.”
