Tonight, the International House Hotel is hosting a preview screening of Keeper of the Flame, a drama about Mardi Gras Indians written and directed by Big Chief Brian Harrison Nelson of the Guardians of the Flame tribe. The film centers around the conflict that arises in the succession when a Big Chief dies, passing on his mantle to his grandson instead of his nephew.
The preview begins at 7 p.m. at the International House Hotel, with a reception starting at 6 and a Mardi Gras Indian performance following the film at 8. Seating is limited, so you must RSVP by emailing [email protected] or call 504-231-5780 .
Keeper of the Flame will have a public premiere at the Patois New Orleans International Human Rights Film Festival on Sunday, April 17 at the New Orleans Museum of Art.
