Tonight, Loyola grad G-Eazy performs at Republic for the club’s weekly “Throwback” party (tonight’s theme: Sandlot). The show is a tour kickoff of sorts for G—a week later he heads to Salt Lake City, Utah with the Vans Warped Tour. He’ll be performing at each of the 40+ stops on the two-month Warped Tour, now in its 18th year. The tour won’t be going through New Orleans—the closest it comes is Houston or Atlanta—but G-Eazy’s offering two chances to win tickets, one through Facebook, the other through Twitter.
Here’s G-Eazy’s most recent music video, for his song “Marilyn”, on which local singer/songwriter Dominique LeJeune contributes the hook in the chorus. His theatrical, stylized videos have become a calling card of sorts, with last summer’s “Runaround Sue” vid helping to put him on the national map.
Doors for tonight’s concert open at 10 p.m. Tickets are $5 before midnight, $10 after.
