WWNO  and WRKF NPR launch “Louisiana Considered,” a regional daily radio program

WWNO New Orleans Public Radio and WRKF NPR for Baton Rouge will launch a live regional daily radio program about South Louisiana: Louisiana Considered. It will air throughout South Louisiana on both WWNO 89.9 FM in New Orleans and WRKF 89.3 FM in Baton Rouge, Monday through Friday live at noon and rebroadcast at 7:30 p.m. The program kicked off yesterday, Monday, February 15.

Louisiana Considered will showcase the day’s biggest stories and feature interviews with journalists, newsmakers, and artists. It is a product of the WWNO-WRKF ongoing local news collaboration.

“Listeners in Baton Rouge and New Orleans have told us they want to hear more about the local and regional issues that matter to them,” said Paul Maassen, WWNO-WRKF general manager. “Louisiana Considered expands our stations’ capacity to better serve communities.”

“There are few places as interesting, lively and important as South Louisiana,” said WWNO-WRKF news director Patrick Madden. “With Louisiana Considered we want to create a space for engaging, intelligent conversations about the top issues facing the region.”

Madden will host the program, along with WRKF Morning Edition Host Karen Henderson, and WWNO All Things Considered Host Karl Lengel. Friday shows will feature a Louisiana politics roundtable co-hosted by Stephanie Grace, political columnist for The Advocate and The Times-Picayune.
