This Saturday, November 2, pop act The Ready Set will perform a benefit concert at the Civic Theatre (510 O’Keefe Ave) for Ochsner Hospital’s Pediatrics Department. Raceland, Louisiana’s own Cameron Richard, a thirteen year-old who underwent cranialfacial surgery at Oschner as a child will open the show. Richard’s doctors said dreams of becoming a pop singer were nearly impossible, given his condition. But his surgeries were successful and he has defied all odds, since becoming a singing sensation.
Doors for the Ochsner benefit concert are at 7:00 p.m. Richard will go on at 8:00 p.m., and the Ready Set will take the sage at 8:45 p.m. General admission tickets are $20 and can be purchased online via Ticketmaster. $100 VIP tickets, which include a meet-and-greet with the Ready Set during soundcheck, as well as a poster and an autograph opportunity, are also available through Ticketmaster. All proceeds from the show will go towards helping Ochsner pediatric patients in the community. The concert is sponsored by Capital One Bank. More information is available at: www.oschner.org.
