There are not too many people that can cover the Talking Heads and not be scoffed, but String Cheese Incident keyboardist Kyle Hollingsworth recently recorded an, um, unique a cappella version of the Heads’ song “This Must Be The Place,” created entirely on an iPad, and posted it on Soundcloud, much to the delight of nearly 300 approving fans.  He has clearly been experimenting with modern technology and genres not necessarily akin to the String Cheese Incident‘s brand of psychedelic bluegrass lately, and brings his new jam band to New Orleans this weekend. Hollingsworth performs this Friday, October 18 at the Howlin’ Wolf with his new solo project. Local funksters Russell Batiste, Nigel Hall and Andrew Block will join the set to make for one interesting and experimental show.
