Tony award winning actor Wendell Pierce is inviting the New Orleans blind community to attend the June 27 matinee performance of his upcoming play Brothers from the Bottom.
Pierce, who has appeared in hugely successful HBO dramas The Wire and Treme, donated 100 tickets to the local non-profit radio station and national resource for the visually impaired, WRBH 88.3 FM Reading Radio, of which he has become a prominent supporter.
All 100 ticket recipients will also receive a meet and greet with Pierce.
The station will also give away some tickets to the public with a suggested donation of $30, which will support WRBH’s mission of providing equal access to information for the visually impaired.
Brothers from the Bottom, which is set in post-Katrina New Orleans, addresses neighborhood gentrification and its impact on two brothers, and is set to premiere at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts from June 5-28.
Anyone interested in Brothers from the Bottom tickets for “WRBH Day” on June 27th may call the station at (504) 899-1144 or email [email protected] for more information.
