In a statement released on social media the morning of June 10, the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience (Voodoo Fest) announced it has canceled its 2021 festival with plans to return in 2022.
The announcement read: “Voodoo Music + Arts Experience will take a pause in 2021 and will return to City Park for an epic Halloween experience in 2022. As our city reopens with an abundance of events to reconnect with, we look forward to holding our reunion when we can fully embrace the Voodoo Experience. Current ticket holders will receive an email from front gate tickets within the next 24 hours including information about rollover and refund options.”
The 2020 edition of Voodoo was canceled due to ongoing restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic. The festival was expected to take place over Halloween weekend this year.
Although Voodoo Fest 2021 has been canceled, other festivals slated for October are still scheduled to be held, including the French Quarter Festival from Sept. 30 to Oct. 3,, trailed by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival from Oct. 8 to 17 and BUKU: Planet B from Oct. 22 to 23.
Previous performers at Voodoo Fest include KISS, Preservation Hall, Duran Duran, Foo Fighters, Rebirth Brass Band, Dr. John, and Post Malone.
