On Sunday, November 5, an event supporting the Virgin Islands Relief Fund will bring together local musicians and activists in an effort to raise money for those still suffering in the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria. Taking place at NOLA Brewing (3001 Tchoupitoulas St.), it kicks off at 4p.m. with an acoustic tribute to the late Tom Petty and closes with Darcy Malone and the Tangle.
Joining the Tom Petty tribute will be Terry McDermott, 2012 runner up on The Voice, as well as Paul Sanchez, Jimmy Robinson, Lynn Drury, Jamie Lynn Vessels, Vanessa of Gal Holiday and the Honky Tonk Revue, ‘Westbank’ Mike Doussan and many others. Also on the bill for the evening is Beatin’ Path.
Food will be provided by McClure’s Barbecue, while the venue will offer a variety of brews in its Tap Room. Silent auction items from LSU and the New Orleans Saints will also be available and will benefit the VIRF, as well. There is a $10 donation at the door, all children under 12 are admitted free.
