The Revivalists took daytime TV by storm when they performed on The Ellen Degeneres Show earlier today.
The New Orleans rockers delivered a rendition of their chart-topping hit “Wish I Knew You” for the audience, who were treated to a surprisingly psychedelic visual display and some signature showmanship from lead singer David Shaw (the vocalist also made a quiet political statement with his “I Stand with Standing Rock” t-shirt). Degeneres, who is a New Orleans native herself, noted that she invited the band to perform immediately after hearing the song on the radio.
The milestone comes just a few months after The Revivalists made their national television debut on The Today Show in August. The group has spent the past year and a half touring in support of their 2015 album, Men Amongst Mountains, which reached #2 on Billboard’s Alternative Albums Chart.
As previously reported, the Revivalists will close out the year in their hometown when they headline the Orpheum Theater on December 31.
