New Orleans rock outfit The Revivalists made their late night television debut on Conan yesterday. The TBS program was treated to a rendition of the band’s Men Amongst Mountains single “Wish I Knew You,” the same track they played on The Today Show and The Ellen Degeneres Show.
Originally released in 2015, “Wish I Knew You,” has now garnered over 8 million streams on Spotify and brought unprecedented attention to the seven-piece group. The delightful, nostalgia-tinged number has recieved some serious airplay in recent months as well, even climbing to the top of Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs chart in September.
The Revivalists have picked up a number of nominations for the 2016 Best of the Beat Music Awards, which are slated to take place at Generations Hall in New Orleans on Thursday, January 19. The band will compete for Artist of the Year, Best Rock Artist and Best Music Video for “Wish I Knew You.” Frontman David Shaw has also been nominated for Songwriter of the Year and Best Male Vocalist.
As previously reported, the Revivalists will close out the year in their hometown when they headline the Orpheum Theater on December 31.
