The 2016 Best of the Beat Music Awards are going down this Thursday, so our own Jan Ramsey sat down with WWL’s Eric Paulson this morning to talk about the party. She was joined by Best of the Beat nominee Khris Royal, who performed on the program with his band, Dark Matter.

The 2016 Best of the Beat Music Award will take place at Generations Hall in New Orleans on Thursday, January 19 (not Sunday as the video erroneously suggests). The party will feature sets from Khris Royal & Dark Matter, Mia Borders, Naughty Professor, Soul Brass Band, The Fortifiers, Valerie Sassyfras and an all-star tribute to Johnny Vidacovich.
