The incomparable jazz great Ellis Marsalis received the OffBeat Magazine Lifetime Achievement in Music Award at the Best of the Beat Music Business award ceremony last night.

The cream of the crop of the New Orleans music business scene was in attendance at the ceremony, which took place at the beautiful New Orleans Jazz Market in Central City.

In addition to Marsalis’s Lifetime Achievement honor, Roger Dickerson received the Music Education award, Gary Edwards received the Music Business award, and Pat Jolly received our Heartbeat Award.

Fred Kasten wrote and produced a video profiling Ellis Marsalis for the ceremony.
