Usher will play a free concert in New Orleans’ iconic French Quarter next week as part of Allstate Fan Fest’s pre-Sugar Bowl festivities.
The R&B superstar, who headlined the 2015 Essence Festival, will perform in the Jax Brewery parking lot on Decatur Street near Jackson Square at 6:15pm on Wednesday, December 30–two days before Oklahoma State battles Ole Miss in the 2016 Sugar Bowl.
Those that cannot attend the event will be be able to watch it live via TIDAL, an entertainment streaming platform.
Fan Fest will continue on Thursday, December 31 with an Oklahoma State Pep Rally (1:30pm), a New Year’s Parade (3:30pm) and an Ole Miss Pep Rally (5:15pm). The event will also feature numerous activities that will be open to the public, including football-related drills and more.
The 2016 Allstate Sugar Bowl is set to begin at 7:30pm on Friday, January 1. As is tradition, the game will be played in the Mercedes Benz Superdome.
UPDATE: An earlier version of this article incorrectly stated that the Usher concert would be held in Jackson Square. The show will take place in the Jax Brewery parking lot on Decatur Street, one block from Jackson Square.
