The Trombone Shorty Foundation opens its free Fall 2024 Masterclass Series, offering sessions for aspiring musicians aged 14 to 24. Grammy-nominated New Orleans artist Tarriona “Tank” Ball and Cuban musician Cimafunk headline the series, designed to cultivate the next generation of talent in an immersive, hands-on learning environment. Each masterclass is tailored to specific skills, from songwriting to Cuban funk, live production and social media essentials for young musicians entering the industry.
“What an amazing opportunity these masterclasses offer our young music students,” says Bill Taylor, Founding Executive Director of Trombone Shorty Foundation. “By linking our next generation with established industry professionals, important and valuable knowledge is passed on in a supportive environment.
Founded by Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews in 2012, the Trombone Shorty Foundation’s mission is to uplift and inspire young musicians through education, mentorship and performance opportunities.
