Tristan Gianola has announced his upcoming album release, A Hand On A Shoulder | A Head On A Chest. This album marks his second collaboration with the Lantern Light Records label, following the success of his first release.
Gianola’s decision to center the album around themes of comfort, home and emotional safety is both timely and poignant, as these are concepts that many people are seeking in their lives today. It is also worth noting that the project was initially created for a podcast with Covenant House, which provides housing and supportive services to homeless youth. This highlights the socially conscious nature of Gianola’s work, as he uses his talent and platform to raise awareness and support for important causes.
The album features 12 tracks, including seven initial compositions, two remixes, and three alternate takes. The collaborative process between Gianola and Blume involved a back-and-forth exchange of ideas, with initial recordings done together in New Orleans and continued remotely while Gianola was away. This approach allowed the two artists to create a cohesive and dynamic sound showcasing their strengths and unique styles. In addition to the music, the album’s artwork is also noteworthy, created by the talented artist Sarah Elizabeth Burke, also based in New Orleans.
