Treme Creole Gumbo Festival Cooks up a Good Time

The seventh annual Treme Creole Gumbo Festival will get stirring Saturday, November 8 and Sunday, November 9, from 11 a.m. to 7:15 p.m. both days in Louis Armstrong Park.

Treme Creole Gumbo Fest is November 8-9 at Armstrong Park.

Vendors will serve up heaping doses of gumbo in a variety of styles, including the second annual Vegan Gumbo Contest.

In addition to a full lineup of local acts, there will also be a Brass Menagerie second line parade on Saturday night followed by the Brass Ball fundraising party to benefit WWOZ.

There will also be two special performances by the St. Augustine High School Brass Band and the Edna Karr High School Brass Band.

Parking is free all weekend in the parking lots of the Mahalia Jackson Theatre. Enter via Basin Street.

Admission to the Treme Creole Gumbo Festival is free, but donation boxes will be set up at most of the park entrances.
