Tool will bring their visually-stunning live show to the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Sunday, January 31. According to a listing on Ticketmaster’s website, the mind-bending progressive rock band will be joined by Primus, who are slated to open the show with a set of their own. Tickets for the concert will go on sale Friday, December 4 at 10am.
Tool announced their latest round of tour dates last week, reigniting speculation that the band is gearing up to release a new album almost ten years after putting out their last effort, 2006’s 10,000 Days.
The New Orleans show is one of a few that have been added since the initial announcement, which included stops in the San Diego, San Antonio, Tulsa, Dallas, Memphis, Nashville, Atlanta and Charlotte metropolitan areas. It will be the group’s first performance in the Crescent City since their June 19, 2010 gig at the UNO Lakefront Arena.
UPDATE, Nov. 23: The Ticketmaster.com listing for Tool’s January 31 show in New Orleans has now been taken down. However, a Facebook event page for the show–which was created by Ticketmaster–is still live.
