Today (April 6), the Recording Academy will host an online discussion relating to how the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act directly affects music makers.
The organization posted news of the Webinar to Facebook, saying “The #CARESAct contains a number of key protections and provisions that put music creators in a better position for immediate and long-term relief, including authorizing a new pandemic unemployment assistance program for eligible self-employed workers, creating new Small Business Administration loans for self-employed workers, and establishing a $75 million supplemental fund for the National Endowment for the Arts.”
Participating in the panel are moderator Daryl Friedman, Recording Academy Chief Industry, Government & Member Relations Officer; and Greenberg Traurig law firm experts Kelly Bunting and Monica Shulteis. Together, the panel will “discuss the impact of the CARES Act on the music community.”
California Democratic Congresswoman Linda T. Sánchez will be a special guest and give an update from Capitol Hill.
“Webinar: How the $2 Trillion Stimulus Bill Impacts Music Makers” will air on FB Live here at 2 p.m. CST.
