The New Orleans Mission is a beneficiary of Tipitina’s TIPSgiving, a concert raising money for the non-profit focused on addressing homelessness. This year, Noisewater, Darcy Malone & The Tangle and The Fortifiers will rock the Tip’s stage on Wednesday, November 21.
According to organizers, the goal of the New Orleans Mission is to provide shelter, food and “spiritual guidance” to the homeless population of the city. “The New Orleans Mission’s strategy is to RESCUE people from homelessness, strengthen the RECOVERY efforts of the people seeking help, and fostering their successful RE-ENGAGEMENT into society as healthy, disciplined and skilled people ready to lead a sustainable productive purpose-driven life,” the Mission said in a statement.
At TIPSgiving, attendees are encouraged to donate canned goods and clothing. Customers who donate canned food or winter clothing will receive a $5 discounted ticket price at the door, however cash donations for the Mission will also be accepted at the Tipitina’s box office until the day of the show. Partial proceeds from tickets will be used to support the performing artists.
