In another demonstration of resilience during these tough times, Tipitina’s and Tipitina’s.TV has announced the recent premiere of “The Alright, Alright Broadcast.” According to Tipitina’s personnel, the broadcast will be a new, recurring web series featuring casual, personal interviews filmed on stage at 501 Napoleon Avenue. Streamed via YouTube, the series aims to document the New Orleans music and cultural scene in the words of those who live and create it.
Each episode will feature musicians, artists, cultural icons, and industry professionals telling their stories, the lessons they learned along the way, those who impacted them, and more.
All of the videos are free to watch and available on demand at Tipitina’s.TV’s new YouTube Channel and a full list of episodes can be found at www.Tipitinas.TV.
Currently available episodes include interviews with Stanton Moore of Galactic and Big Sam Williams of Big Sam’s Funky Nation. Previews are now live for future episodes featuring Samantha Fish, Sam Craft, and Tarriona “Tank” Ball of Tank and the Bangas.
Tipitina’s Talent Buyer Nicolaus Logan says, “We created this series to give a different kind of platform to local musicians, crews, culture and entertainment creators and personalities that allows them to tell their story in their own words and capture the full essence of their individuality. Interview subjects are not given any questions or topics in advance, but rather have a casual, on-the-spot conversation about a myriad of personalized topics with our GM Brian ‘Tank’ Greenberg while they enjoy refreshments. We hope this is a fun way to get a closer look into the less publicized side of the industry and the audience gets to know our guests a little better.”
Founded in 1977, Tipitina’s ventured into the broadcast arena this summer when it was forced to shut down operations due to COVID-19. Season 1 was sponsored by Crystal Hot Sauce and featured performances by Galactic, Rebirth Brass Band, Anders Osborne, Tank and the Bangas, Samantha Fish, and The Radiators.
