Tab Benoit founded the Voice of the Wetlands Foundation in 2003 to combat the coastal erosion he witnessed tearing through the land he grew up on. Now, nearly a decade later, that move seems eerily prescient.

Hurricane Katrina, BP, and continued abuse to our coast has turned a man-made problem into a catastrophe that affects everyone in Southern Louisiana and ultimately the nation. But the good news is that the plight of Louisiana’s coastline has gone from niche concern to national issue, and the yearly free festival held by the organization in Houma has matured into a musical rally for the cause.
Louisiana’s best homegrown musical and culinary talent will be on display, shining a light on exactly how much culture we stand to lose. The event runs all weekend with the supergroup that started it all—the Voice of the Wetlands All-Stars—closing out the one-of-a-kind, family-friendly festival Sunday night.
