New Orleans-based brass ensemble, The Soul Rebels, will make several performances at the renowned Blue Note Jazz Club in New York. Spanning four nights from September 21 to September 24, the shows will feature special guest appearances by hip-hop legends Rakim, Big Daddy Kane, G-Eazy, and Ja Rule.
Drummer and co-founder Lumar Leblanc highlighted the significance of this opportunity, stating, “Performing at the Blue Note Jazz Club is a milestone for our band. We are looking forward to sharing the stage with artists we admire, some of whom we have collaborated with before, and some for the first time.”
Having recently collaborated with notable figures like Nas, Dave Chappelle, Robert Glasper, and Rapsody, The Soul Rebels are no strangers to sharing the spotlight with esteemed artists. Their participation in the Blue Note Jazz Festival in Napa showcased their versatility, performing alongside Rakim and trumpet maestro Keyon Harrold. Additionally, they made waves with a supergroup collaboration with the renowned Wu-Tang Clan at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
With the release of their latest album Poetry In Motion in 2023, The Soul Rebels have been garnering attention and expanding their global reach. Their music has found its way into various projects, including providing original compositions for Disney’s Haunted Mansion movie and contributing to the soundtrack of the hit comedy Girls Trip.
