On the heels of selling out their March 5 concert at The Broadside within 24 hours of on-sale, The Soul Rebels and famed streetwear and sneaker boutique, Sneaker Politics, announce a five-month concert residency at The Broadside. The residency marks The Soul Rebels’ one year anniversary since performing their last series of public concerts in New Orleans.
The band did not lose momentum in 2020, however. Most recently, the group participated in a successful major live stream campaign presented by GrubHub with Anderson .Paak. The Soul Rebels celebrate the success of their Poetry in Motion album, a recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s concert series, new music featured on Netflix, ESPN and in film and television, and a successful series of live streamed concerts and to-be-announced major brand partnerships.
On October 1, 2020 the Broad Theater, the independent film locale of New Orleans, tweeted a cryptic (or not so) message about the possible opening of an “outdoor space” this month. OffBeat confirmed with Brian Knighten, owner of Broad Theater, that the outdoor drive in movie space would open its outdoor space and since then has successfully hosted a slew of live performances and film festivals including performances from Big Sam’s Funky Nation. The Soul Rebels new residency could set a new model for what to expect for live music ahead: more bands with partnerships at venues such as The Broadside.
Residency dates include March 5, April 2, May 2, May 7, June 11 and July 2. Doors 7:00pm/show 8:00pm CT. Tickets are priced at $20 and are available here.
