New Orleans treasure The Revivalists are back with the surprise release of their new live studio EP, Made In Muscle Shoals. The EP release is accompanied by a live studio video for their brand new song “Bitter End” as well as a documentary following the creation of Made In Muscle Shoals.
The documentary captures the spirit of The Revivalists that has glowingly remained strong throughout their decade-long journey as a band. In the setting of Muscle Shoals Studio, the documentary explores the innovative and collaborative mind of The Revivalists and how they come to create their unique, New Orleans-saturated sound. Frontman David Shaw opens up on the significance of Muscle Shoals to the band: “We went to Muscle Shoals to capture that special kind of real and raw that only a place like that can provide. There’s a certain kind of magic that occurs when you’re amongst the spirit in that room. All the history, all the hurt, all the passion and perseverance that went into making what is now one of the most iconic studios in America was ever-present and always felt.”
The Revivalists give audiences the intimate experience of being in the studio as the band records the Made In Muscle Shoals EP. The EP features shining new versions of the band’s hits like “Oh No,” “You & I,” “Change,” and “All My Friends” from their latest album release, Take Good Care (Loma Vista Recordings). Additionally, the band records a passionate cover of The Bee Gees’ “To Love Somebody” and a touching piano-and-vocal rendition of their platinum-selling hit “Wish I Knew You.” The EP also includes the band’s brand new song “Bitter End.”
