For those jonesing to get their outdoor music fix, The Rayo Brothers may just have your fix. The folk rock band will play a pair of outdoor concerts in Baton Rouge and Lafayette on October 15 and 16.
The Rayo Brothers present honest and insightful songwriting with an impassioned folk rock and alt country sound, featuring sibling harmonies and majestic, sweeping arrangements. The band puts on a rollicking show that flows from raucous foot-stompers to intimate ballads and everywhere in between. Last year OffBeat’s Dan Willging described their music as: “[Whiskeytown meets the Avett Brothers), thematically they often deal with protagonists admitting their shortcomings in irreconcilable situations and moving forward with maturity.”
The Rayo Brothers are set to play at Beauvoir Park, 2834 Greenwood Drive, Baton Rouge at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, October 15. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and available here. Event staff state: “This will be an exclusive event, where only 100 pre-sale tickets will be sold. We will keep a close eye on our lawn’s capacity to determine how shows will look moving forward and we may allow some additional ticket sales at the door. We encourage everyone to bring their own quilt or blanket to safely maintain a proper distance between one another. If you are at risk, we ask that you please stay home. If you have a fever, we ask that you please stay home.”
The band will perform at Hideway on Lee, 407 Lee Avenue, Lafayette at 7 p.m. Friday, October 16. There is no cover for this event.
