Fish-heads rejoice. The Radiators will keep the tradition alive virtually in 2021 as they broadcast from Tipitina’s for three full nights starting January 15. Each show, starting at 8 p.m. CST, will feature two full sets of the classic fish-head music that has echoed through the venerable club and rocked countless crowds for generations. The Radiators are no strangers to evolution. In 2010, Dave Malone talked to John Swenson about how the band planned to go forward after officially breaking up.
“I think people get trapped into wanting things to stay the same and that keeps you from moving forward. I think somebody could come in and do the job, make his own mark. It’s about throwing out any kind of idea you got. Somebody might suggest somebody you never thought of,” he said. So it only makes sense that The Radiators are ready and willing to make the transition to the online reunion format.
The full weekend pass and individual night tickets are now currently available at www.Tipitinas.TV.
Until then, check out the band’s 1991 performance in New York City that was broadcast on a Japanese TV show!
