Yesterday The Radiators played their last-ever free public concert to kick off this year’s weekly Wednesday at the Square concert series, running every Wednesday on Lafayette Square at 5 p.m. through June 15. Instead of the usual hour sets, the Rads played the entire two-and-a-half-hour show without an opener for a full evening of fish-head music. The band will be retiring this June after a 33-year career, and will continue their farewell tour before returning to New Orleans for their annual closing of the Gentilly Stage at Jazz Fest.
