The New Orleans Children’s Chorus Hosting Online Fundraiser

The New Orleans Children’s Chorus announces its seventh online auction fundraiser. The event will take place online November 12 – 19, 2020 through the site biddingforgood.com. After the auction start date, you can go to the site, and search for New Orleans Children’s Chorus to view our auction. This site makes donated items available to hundreds of thousands of people across the US, in addition to local bidders.

Exciting items for auction include an autographed Saints football from 2018, a stay at the Loews New Orleans hotel, a WWOZ fundraiser poster from Jimmy’s, an Obama fundraiser event poster by famous New Orleans musicians (raised over $50,000), jewelry, gift cards and more.

The proceeds from this event will provide funding to support the New Orleans Children’s Chorus, which is a nonprofit organization, dedicated to the development of artistry in children of the metropolitan area without exception.Through the singing of high-quality choral music and the achievement of artistic excellence, the singers develop self-confidence, discipline, and social skills as well as musical knowledge. Interested singers between 5 and 18 are placed in one of four choirs. Its alumni number well over 3,000 families.

Nationally renowned for the quality of its educational program, and beautiful singing, NOCC choirs have toured the US, Canada and Europe, have been selected for performance at the American Choral Directors Association conferences, have served as Artists in Residence at three universities, and performed frequently with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and The New Orleans Symphony.  After Hurricane Katrina, choirs throughout the US and beyond raised money to help NOCC survive. This June the Concert Chorus and Alumni will perform on tour in Florence and Verona, Italy.

The NOCC also hosts an annual Crescent City Choral Festival bringing in choirs from around the United States to perform at St. Louis Cathedral under the direction of NOCC Artistic Director, Cheryl Dupont.
