It’s been a rough few weeks in the South, first with a series of devastating tornadoes that tore through Alabama, and now with the flooding caused by the extremely high waters of the Mississippi River. With their home in New Orleans but roots in Alabama, the natural disasters have had a double effect on folk/bluegrass/rock band The Blue Party, and to do their part the band is playing a benefit Thursday, May 19 at Tipitina’s.
100% of the money the Blue Party makes will be going to the Red Cross to help with flooding and tornado recovery efforts, so drink up. Tickets are $7, doors open at 9. Local indie group Royal Teeth open the show.
