Chefs Donald Link and Stephen Stryjewski are giving New Orleanians a way to kick off Oktoberfest and give to a good cause when their Tchouptoberfest takes place this weekend. The block-party-style event takes place Sunday, October 1 and will be hosted by Cochon Restaurant, located at the corner of Tchoupitoulas and Andrew Higgins Dr.
Tchouptoberfest is open to all ages and will feature indie performers such as Polish Pete & the Polka? I Hardly Knew Her Band, Rik Slaves’ Country Persuasion, Conor Donohue, Midriff, Motel Radio, and Sexy Dex and the Fresh. Meanwhile, the team at Cochon and Cochon Butcher will be on hand to serve up a host of authentic German dishes in addition to local beers and German wines.
The event will benefit the duo’s Link Stryjewski Foundation, which aims to empower and educate New Orleans area youth. “Tchouptoberfest is a family-friendly event and the perfect kick-off to your Oktoberfest celebrations. We invite everyone to come out and enjoy some bratwurst, schnitzel, German sausages and pretzels, while supporting the kids of New Orleans,” Link said in a statement.
Tickets for the block party are $20 each, with food and drink options available for purchase. A limited number of Bratz VIP passes are available for $100 and include access to Cochon Butcher, complimentary snacks, beer, wine, and a full cash bar. Advance tickets can be purchased on the Link Stryjewski Foundation’s website.
