Tales of the Cocktail had their annual press conference and toast on Wednesday, July 20.
At the press conference they gave away many awards including the Sustainable Spirit Award and the Cocktail of the Year Award. The Sustainable Spirit award was given to bars around the world that are eco friendly.
This year is the Year of the Mule, the Moscow Mule that is. After looking over hundreds of recipe entries, Portland native Angel Teta won the grand prize of $1,000 for her Mule mixture.
Tales of the Cocktail also received a check of $10,000 from New Orleans Culinary and Cultural Preservation Society Inc.
The press conference also gave away where the Tails on Tour will be touring for the next two years and that will be in Edinburgh. The fellows over at Frenet-Branca were very excited and gave out free shots to the crowd.
If all of this sounds fun to you, Tales of the Cocktail is having more events open to the public through out the week. Some events include author signings, a running tour, and meeting the makers from multiple alcohol companies. Check out the schedule here!
