New York rock band Taking Back Sunday has announced a show in New Orleans on Wednesday, October 12 for their forthcoming tour in support of their new album, Tidal Wave. The tour is stopping at intimate clubs across the country to share their seventh studio album.
“We’d like to debut this record as honestly as we can and what better way to do that in a small club?” said vocalist Adam Lazzara. The band is hopes to connect more directly with fans throughout the tour. Punk rock outfit You Blew It! will be direct support during their New Orleans stop.
Taking Back Sunday’s album Tidal Wave will be released on September 16, the day before their tour kicks off. The record picks up where the previous one left up but ups the ante to a whole new level.
“By the time most bands get to this point in their career they are pretty set in what they do, but we were really mindful about approaching our musical ideas differently this time around and staying true to where the five of us are in our lives right now,” Lazzara says about the new album. “This album is truly an expression of what Taking Back Sunday is during this snapshot in time as opposed to what we think people expect from our band.”
You can hear the band performing their new record at the House of Blues this fall. Tickets start at $35 and go on sale here tomorrow.
