Fans of Southern rock and R&B are in for a treat. This year’s T-Bois Blues Festival in Larose, Louisiana on April 4 and 5 will feature a powerhouse roster of Louisiana-based and Southern musicians.
True to the festival’s roots as well as the Cajun tradition of outdoor acoustic performances, some of the festival’s biggest names will be playing mellow acoustic sets amid massive campfires and food from some of the best restaurants in New Orleans.
Eric Lindell, Alvin Youngblood Heart’s Muscle Theory, Jumpin Johnny Sansone, the Cedric Burnside Project, King James and the Special Men, Keller Williams, the Colin Lake Band, and the Honey Island Swamp Band are all slated to perform, among many others.
One of the highlights of this year’s festival will be Anders Osborne, Luther Dickinson from North Mississippi Allstars, JJ Grey, and Marc Broussard performing a special acoustic set as the “Southern Soul Assembly.”
The Southern Soul Assembly acoustic set will showcase each performer’s songwriting and southern roots, with a special focus on storytelling. Eric Lindell will also team up with Colin Lake and Heath Ledet for a late night acoustic set to close out the festival at 1 a.m. on April 5.
The festival grew out of a tradition of crawfish boils every year on Good Friday at “Alligator Mike” Falgout’s family farm south of New Orleans along Bayou Lafourche. The festival and the farm it calls home take their name from the Cajun French term for “lil woods.”
The festival is sponsored by NOLA Brewing, and NOLA Beer and camping fees are included in the price of admission.
