The annual T-Bois Blues Festival in Larose, LA is, without a doubt, one of Louisiana’s most buzzed-about new little festivals. This week, T-Bois organizer Alligator Mike announced the line-up for their third annual gathering, which takes place April 4-5, 2014. Some have already begun to dub T-Bois Fest the “Bayou Burning Man” with its larger-than-life art installation, fire pits, interactive games and living-with-nature mentality. But the T-Bois experience is undeniably a down-home bayou country one, setting it apart from many other music festivals. Not just a camping party weekend, but not just a blues fest either.
T-Bois, a Cajun French word meaning “lil’ woods,” is the name of the farm that hosts the festival and has been in master of ceremonies, Alligator Mike’s family for over 60 years. Once used primarily for farming cattle, with crawfish ponds scattered around the grounds, it is now home to much of Mike’s family, a whole bunch of alligators and one of the best up-and-coming music festivals you haven’t heard of yet.
T-Bois Blues Festival is an all inclusive blues-filled weekend with camping, all you can drink NOLA Beer and tons of great food cooked up fresh for you by Mike’s extended family three times a day. The hospitality is endless as these folks want you to feel right at home at their bayou country farm. Unlike so many large-scale festivals, T-Bois has an intimate vibe you can’t get just anywhere — it is absolutely a Cajun country thing. And the entire experience is set to the soundtrack of the Gulf South’s best live blues and roots rock musicians.
The primary 2014 festival line-up is below, and tickets go on sale this Friday, December 6. For tickets and more information, visit www.tboisbluesfestival.com.
