New Orleans funk and soul group Smoke N Bones will kick off their summer with a big show at the Maple Leaf on Friday, June 23.
Dubbed Summer Fest, the show will find the band showcasing tunes from their 2016 debut album Amplify, as well as some new original material. Fans will be excited to hear that, in addition to a full concert, attendees will also be treated to 80 lbs. of boiled crawfish beginning at 9:30pm (if Tropical Storm Cindy keeps fresh crawfish out of the city this weekend, the band will put together a seafood boil instead).
Smoke N Bones features Billy Franklin (guitar, vocals), Mykia Jovan (vocals), Kyle Sharamitaro (drums, vocals), Doug Dietrich (bass, vocals) and Kyle “Astreaux” Cripps (sax, keys). Jovan, the group’s lead singer, debuted her first solo recordings with OffBeat earlier this month.
Admission for Summer Fest is $10, with free crawfish included in the price. Doors open at 9:30pm and music starts at 10:30pm.
