Along with his upcoming 82nd birthday, New Orleans blues artist Milton Frazier has something else to celebrate. Frazier—the singer, guitarist and songwriter known as Alabama Slim—is releasing his third album, The Parlor, today. Accompanied by his cousin, Little Freddie King “Fread Eugene Martin,” and producer-drummer Ardie Dean, he recorded the project in four hours.
“We went in and laid it down,” Frazier said of his unfussy session at the Parlor Recording Studio. “As a matter of fact, me and Freddie, we’re just ready, man, because that’s my thing.”
