Steve Gunn will bring his contemplative compositions to New Orleans when he co-headlines Gasa Gasa on Sunday, June 18. The prolific guitarist and songwriter, who earned widespread acclaim for 2014’s Way Out Weather and 2016’s Eyes on the Lines, will perform in the Crescent City roughly a year after his last Gasa Gasa gig—and much of his tour—was called off due to a family emergency. (We spoke with Gunn last year ahead of his show-that-never-was).
However, the co-headline designation means he won’t be the only noteworthy act at Gasa Gasa that night. Joining him on the bill will be alternative rock pioneer Lee Ranaldo, who is best known as a co-founder and guitarist for Sonic Youth. Psych-folk singer-songwriter Meg Baird will also be on hand for an opening set.
Tickets for Gunn and Ranaldo’s show at Gasa Gasa will go on sale Friday, April 7.
