Louisiana has been in the late night television spotlight this week. Just one day after Aziz Ansari portrayed Governor Bobby Jindal on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Stephen Colbert has taken his show down to New Orleans for a bit with Late Show bandleader Jon Batiste.

As you may recall, Colbert made a trip down to New Orleans earlier this year to invite Batiste to take up the bandleader role on his show. The new piece follows Colbert on that journey, as he meets Batiste for a chat at the Blue Nile before taking a stroll down Frenchmen Street–just one block from the OffBeat office–and learning how to “hang” like a New Orleanian.

Colbert has promised that the show will air more clips from the New Orleans trip on future episodes, but you can check out last night’s video below.
