Steinway & Sons, the world-renowned piano maker, has officially opened Steinway Piano Gallery New Orleans. Since its founding in 1853, Steinway & Sons has set the gold standard for piano craftsmanship, chosen by 9 out of 10 concert artists worldwide. The gallery is the result of a rebranding and extensive remodeling of the beloved Hall Piano Company, a fixture in the New Orleans music scene since 1958.
Building on Hall Piano Company’s storied history, the Steinway Piano Gallery New Orleans will continue to provide service its customers while showcasing the full line of Steinway pianos. From concert grands to traditional uprights, and the cutting-edge Steinway Spirio—a high-resolution player piano—the gallery is a destination for piano enthusiasts and musicians alike.
The remodeled space at 901 David Drive in Metairie, LA, offers a host of new features, including a recital hall, a Spirio Jewel Box experience room, and a variety of pianos tailored to every need and budget. In addition to Steinway’s iconic instruments, the gallery will feature Steinway-designed Boston and Essex pianos, making high-quality options accessible to musicians at all levels.
New Orleans’ rich cultural heritage makes it a fitting home for Steinway’s newest showroom. Gavin English, President of Steinway & Sons Americas, underscored this connection: “Given the incredible musical heritage of New Orleans and the long legacy of Hall Piano Company, we are very proud to welcome Steinway Piano Gallery into the Steinway family of showrooms,” said English, “For decades, Steve and his staff have represented the Steinway brand with consummate professionalism and integrity. We’re very grateful for their partnership.”
Despite the rebranding, Kinchen emphasized that the gallery remains a local, family-operated business. “We’re still locally owned and the same family operation that’s been here since 1958,” he said. “The exciting thing for us is that this is a complete remodel of our showroom. We built out a unique Spirio Jewel Box and a dedicated recital space. We’re looking forward to welcoming the community to our beautiful new gallery.”
