Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage, a one-of-a-kind symphonic concert, will take over the Mahalia Jackson Theater in New Orleans on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.
The lavish production will bring a live symphony orchestra and a number of soloists together for a tour that will boldy take the music of Star Trek to over 100 cities across the globe. According to a press release, concertgoers “will experience the franchise’s groundbreaking and wildly popular musical achievements while the most iconic Star Trek film and TV footage is simultaneously beamed in high definition to a 40-foot wide screen.” The shows are slated to feature music from Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home, Star Trek: Insurrection, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Star Trek: Voyager.
Star Trek: The Ultimate Voyage will be conducted by Justin Freer, who has experience with similar symphonic live projection events for The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Gladiator and The Godfather.
“The Star Trek franchise has for many years been an important and meaningful part of our culture in so many ways,” says Freer. “This exciting concert experience featuring the greatest music and visuals spanning five decades will be an extraordinary and memorable event.”
Tickets for star Trek: The ultimate Voyage will go on sale this Friday, October 9 via Ticketmaster.
