This Friday, Smoke N Bones will kick Easter weekend into high gear at the Maple Leaf. On March 30, the five-piece funk and soul outfit will not only perform a gig at the Oak St. venue but also host an “adult” Easter-egg hunt featuring a prizes not suitable for kids.
Also on site (and free!) will be 100 pounds of freshly boiled crawfish, courtesy of Seither’s Seafood. There is a $10 cover to attend the performance, but there are no additional fees to participate in the food and fun. It all kicks off at 10 p.m. at 8316 Oak Street and remember, it’s a bar – so entry is strictly 21+. Some of the adult-themed prizes in the egg hunt include scratch-off lotto tickets, raunchy candy and bigger prizes given by the band itself.
Those unable to attend the shenanigans will have the opportunity to see Smoke N Bones (Billy Franklin – Guitar, Vocals; Mykia Jovan – Vocals; Kyle Sharamitaro – Drums, Vocals; Doug Dietrich – Bass, Vocals; and
Kyle “Astreaux” Cripps – Sax, Keys) perform on the GE Digital Stage (Big River Stage near Canal Street entrance to Aquarium Plaza) at French Quarter Fest on April 13 at 11 a.m. They’ve also got upcoming gigs lined up at Three Keys and 30/90.
